Terms & Conditions
Group Classes
1.
Students must register and complete payment prior to the first class.
2.
Coupons and deals are valid for one time use and only apply to new students.
3.
Students must be 17 years old (and a high school senior or equivalent) to participate in adult group classes.
4.
Students should be aware that Rola has a no-makeup class policy and also will not prorate the cost of the session for pre-planned absences. This means that if a student misses a class, they will not be able to make it up and will not receive a refund for classes missed. Students will continue to receive homework from their teacher, however, and are welcome to ask for a summary of material covered.
5.
If a student decides to withdraw from a class before it starts, refunds will only be given up to 24 hours before the start date. Due to our small class sizes, a waiting list may exist, so this policy aims to reduce last-minute changes which impact other students' ability to register.
6.
If a student decides to withdraw from a class while the session is in progress, the student forfeit the remaining classes.
7.
Classes are subject to availability and demand. Rola Languages reserves the right to cancel classes 24 hours before the planned start time. Classes must have a three-person minimum to be confirmed. In the event of a class cancellation on our part, Rola will offer affected students either a refund or credit towards other Rola classes/programs.
8.
In order to reduce paper waste and promote green practices, we provide materials in PDF format or otherwise via internet and encourage students to bring laptops and tablets to class to refer to the text. Students are responsible for printing their books if they wish to do so. Professionally printed books may be available for purchase at the Rola website shop.
9.
Students who do not feel comfortable in a class should immediately speak with the administration.
10.
If students do not receive homework from their teachers within 2 days of having class, they should notify the administration immediately.
11.
If a class is not able to be held in-person due to weather (announced via email by 12 pm, subject to changing conditions), class will be held online via Zoom during the scheduled time. Please see Changes Due To Weather below for more information.
12.
If no students arrive within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time, the class will be forfeited by the group. The teacher will leave after 30 minutes, send homework for the next class, and the meeting will count towards the session total.
13.
If you purchased your class on CourseHorse, then their Refund & Cancellation policy applies to your purchase. If you are entitled to a refund, or have any questions, please visit the CourseHorse site and contact their customer service team.
14.
Rola does not have a student parking lot and cannot guarantee parking for its students. Students are highly encouraged to come by foot, bike, subway, bus or ride sharing service.
15.
By registering for an in-person language program, you hereby agree to not to hold Rola liable for any positive COVID-19 test result you receive.
16.
We ask that if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, fever/chills, runny nose, headache, bodyache or fatigue, you remain at home. Should you receive a positive COVID-19 test result within a 1-week window of visiting our offices, we request that you report it to us so we can advise staff and students in the office on the date of your past visit(s) to quarantine/get tested. Your name will remain confidential.
Private Classes
1.
Students must complete payment prior to the first session. Students may choose to purchase additional blocks of hours after the first set finishes.
2.
If a student decides to withdraw from the tutoring program, refunds will only be given up to 24 hours before the start date. Refunds will not be given after a program starts if the student decides to withdraw at no fault of Rola. Any unused classes will be held as a credit in the student's file.
3.
Students must be 6 years or older to participate in private classes.
4.
Students who do not feel comfortable with their teacher should immediately speak with the administration.
5.
Classes must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance of the desired time. Due to time and staffing constraints, scheduling is subject to teacher availability; we may not have a teacher available at the desired day and time.
6.
Students are asked to notify teachers and the administration, at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend class. If notice of a cancellation is given within 24 hours of the class' start time, the lesson will be forfeited.
7.
Students who do not show up for a scheduled class will forfeit that class. The student will receive homework for that class session and the class count will continue as normal.
8.
Students who do not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, and have not previously informed their teacher, will be presumed no-shows and forfeit the class.
9.
Classes will not continue past their scheduled time if the student is late.
10.
If students do not receive homework from their teachers within 2 days of having class, they should notify the administration immediately.
11.

12.
In the event of an office closure due to weather (see Changes Due To Weather below), private tutoring students and their instructors can decide if they would like to have class online at the regularly scheduled time or postpone.
13.
In arrangements of pair or group tutoring, each class counts towards the package for all students. If one or more students cannot attend at the time scheduled for the group (and the lesson is not otherwise postponed or rescheduled per the previous policies), they will not be permitted to make-up the class or retain a credit for the time they personally missed.
